Juarez

The situation in Juarez is pretty sad; people can’t even throw a birthday party to their kids without worrying that someone is going to kill everyone. The killing in Juarez has gone to such degree that everyone in Juarez is afraid to go out of their houses. The cities around Juarez don’t even plan to go near Juarez anytime soon. The situation has gone really bad that everyone had to sell their nice cars and buy a junk car that no one is even going to pay attention to them. Every one right know is afraid of the drug cartels and no one can do anything about it.

  2. It is great that everyone is worried for Juarez...but it's that enough?... I think the situation in Juarez and actually in whole Mexico is horrible, but I ask myself if we can do something against it?... In one part I thought we could go help the people, but in the other hand this war can possibly come to the USA and involve us, which would be a bigger problem and imagine more countries would want to help it can turn in to World War III ...

  3. Living in Juarez is a real challenge, every time I leave home is like jumping into a videogame, you really have to be alert of what surrounds you. People think the problem is happening exclusively in Juarez, but the reality is that many small towns are in an even worst situation. My aunt lives in this small town called Mante, Tamaulipas and they are actually living under a government lead by the organized crime. So maybe, Juarez shouldn't be the main focus in the problem.

  5. The worst part of all of this is that the people living in Juarez really cant do anything about it.

  8. Although this is happening it's not stopping people from going over there. People need to go to a safer environment due to so many killings happening. It is ridiculous how far these cartels have taken things and hopefully it will stop before the number of deaths is super high.

  9. It is extremely sad that we can't enjoy our belongings. Living in Juarez has become a real challenge because certainly you have to buyt a car that won't call the attention. Not even prosperous business can continue because sooner or later they will end up threatened. But as mentioned in one of the comments above, this problem is not only happening in Juarez, this is a problem that takes place in the whole nation.

  10. Yes, everyone is scared to even come close to Juarez I remember back then people could cross the border any time and not worry about anything. Of course one would still be careful during the night but this city was no different from el paso. Partying was not the only thing people went there, they also went to visit family and friends and have a good time. Now it is impossible to even go there and stay for too long. The two UTEP students that died recently are proof of that. They were only there for an hour and got killed in less than thirty seconds. Quite honestly nobody is safe there anymore even the people that have nothing to do with the war.

  11. I wish it could be said that harm will only come to those involved in the war, but that is not the case as multitudes of people are dying for a reason that can simply be defined as being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Its good that people know to take safety precautions that keep them from standing out but it is regrettable that such measures even have to be taken.

  13. I agree. It is pretty sad when you just want to get through the day without being noticed so no one will hurt you. Wasn't this a world where being above the average was a good thing?
